Agatha
AGATHA MALLOW
A songwriter and singer. As a sophisticated musician, Agatha cannot ever be pigeonholed into any particular genre. Whether you hear her lyrical ballads or dynamic rock songs, her emotional involvement and power of expression sound unchangingly thrilling. All of the songs which she performs, whether they be her own tunes or a set of carefully selected covers, constitute a whole story about the people she has met, the world she has been living in and the feelings she has experienced. Her personal story always remains painfully true and sincere; without pretending to be anyone or anything else. Agatha’s personality is very distinctive, made of unique sensitivity and gentleness, which can only highlight her kind heart and crystal clear voice.
On a regular basis, she sings her songs during theatrical and cabaret shows at one of the oldest and still active literary vaudeville theatres in the world, called “Piwnica Pod Baranami” (“The Cellar under the Rams”) which is located in Krakow, Poland. It is a legendary place with a unique community. Among the composers of the cabaret, you can encounter musicians such as Krzysztof Penderecki, Zbigniew Preisner or Zygmunt Konieczny; whose music are also part of Agatha’s repertoire. At present, Agatha is performing and collaborating with composer and pianist Tomasz Kmiecik – another great artist of “The Cellar under the Rams”.
Three songs from her full-length album, namely: "Too Long I’ve Been Sleeping", "All That Is Me", “The Heart in My Hand” reached the top of The Alternative Charts of Radio Krakow, thanks to the listeners’ votes.
November 2007 saw the release of Agatha’s debut album, and her next album entitled “Don’t Let Them Eat You” was released in December 2013.
